Candle FAQ
Do I need a new wick every time I use the candle? Not at all. Your candle can be reused in a few simple ways:
If there's still wick left, just let the candle cool down and light it again like any normal candle.
Crush the hardened wax back into candle sand, add fresh sand if you'd like, and pop the wick back in to start fresh.
Remove the hardened wax completely and place a new wick into the remaining sand.
How do I change the wick?
Easy. Let the candle cool all the way down, take out the old wick, and place a new one into the sand. Just make sure it stands upright and is centered before you light it.
Does The Candledust float on water?
Yes! You can make a floating candle by gently pouring the sand onto the surface of water and placing the wick into it. It's a lovely touch for special occasions.
Do you have scented and unscented candles?
We do. Choose from our scented candles, or pick up coloured or unscented candle sand if you prefer a fragrance-free option.
Are the candles suitable for people who are sensitive to scents?
Our fragrances are IFRA-certified, meaning they're made with safety in mind. Many scent-sensitive customers have told us they enjoy Candledust without any issues.
Are Candledust candles pet-friendly?
The candle sand is made from plant-based materials, which we love. That said, like with any candle, always keep them out of reach of pets and never leave them burning unattended.
What happens if the candle tips over?
The loose candle sand is designed to put itself out if it tips over. Still, a burning candle always deserves your attention, so please don't leave it unattended.
Can I reuse the container?
Absolutely. Once the candle is finished, just clean out the container and repurpose it however you like. It's one of the things that makes Candledust special, nothing goes to waste.
How long does a Candledust candle burn?
It depends on how much sand you use, the size of your container, and how you burn it. You'll find estimated burn times on each product page so you know what to expect.
Can I make my own candle?
Yes, and it's one of our favourite things about Candledust. Just grab your favourite container, pour in the candle sand, and create something that fits your style and space perfectly.
